Adult Male Terrier Mix - Welford, SC

Meet Tyson! Affectionately called “Tyson the mighty bison!” While his stature may not be that of one, at just 38lbs, his resiliency sure is. This sweet fellow enjoys meeting new people and other dogs, especially with a slow and soft approach. Tyson enjoys affection, enjoys sitting on your lap, or arm, or anywhere he can really. He also enjoys play time with other dogs like chase, tug of war, and a fun little game we call ‘bite-n-booty.’ Tyson responds well with treats, and always looks forward to meal time. He is doing well with crate training and will probably need continued help with house training in his new home for a period of time; he may not have always been an indoor boy like he is now and so has been working on learning.

Tyson is currently healing from his 2nd eye surgery to remove dermoids from around his eyes that were causing irritation. He essentially had extra tufts of hair growing around his eyelids, causing hair to poke and scrape his eyes. Tyson is estimated to be around 4 years of age and has gone through so much already, but he is one of the lucky ones and shows us how resilient dogs can be.

Unfortunately not all dogs make it here; like the friend who it was too late for when found at the property with Tyson where he was surrendered. Through all this Tyson continues to love others and learns to trust again with each positive experience. If this special boy seems like a good fit we would love to hear from you!

Tyson is located in a foster home. We are happy to coordinate a meet & greet for pre-approved adopters.
