Adoption Process
Thank you for your interest in adopting from Jasper’s Legacy Rescue! This application is designed to help determine if one of our rescue dogs is the best choice for you and your family. All potential adopting parties are required to complete this form in full prior to the adoption of a JLR dog. Upon submission of this application, you will see a confirmation message. An email chain will be created for you with further instructions and information. A volunteer processor will be assigned to this email chain and will schedule your phone interview. Terms & Conditions
Jasper's Legacy Rescue (JLR) reserves the right to deny any application for any reason.
If misinformation or withheld information pertaining to questions on the application is discovered, the application to adopt will be immediately denied.
Applications can take up to (1) one week to process, so please be patient as JLR is 100% volunteer run and everyone is also employed full-time with regular jobs
All dogs currently within the potential adopter's home must be spayed/neutered. If they are not, the application will be immediately denied. Exceptions are accepted with a note from the vet in the case of too old/young or medical conditions that prevent anesthesia.
Although not standard, JLR has the right to request a home visit to ensure the dog being adopted will have the appropriate environment necessary for the breed or for any special needs that may exist for the welfare of the dog.
All newly adopted dogs must see a veterinarian within 2-3 weeks of adoption to get established and continue on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.
In any circumstance that the adopter requests to return their adopted dog, the adoption fee will not be returned as it is used to help cover the cost to care for the adopted dog and numerous other dogs in our care including medical care, food, training, etc...
In any circumstance that the adopter is unable or unwilling to provide care for their adopted dog, the dog MUST be returned to JLR. The dog is never to be surrendered to a shelter, sold, re-homed, given away, abandoned, or euthanized for convenience.
We ask for a 2 week grace period to find alternate placement for an adoption return.
