The following information is our adoption contract. A copy of this will need to be signed before finalizing the adoption. Please read this over so that you are aware of the information beforehand:
I agree that _____ (dog's recorded name) ("The Dog") is being adopted for myself and will not be used as a guard dog, sold, adopted out, or given to a third party.
I agree and understand that if Jasper's Legacy ("JLR") learns that The Dog is being mistreated or neglected in any way, that JLR has the right to have The Dog returned to JLR, no matter the duration of the adoption.
I agree that I will take possession of The Dog at an agreed location at my own cost and expense and that The Dog will wear a collar or harness with an ID tag for identification.
I agree to keep JLR informed of any changes to my home address, phone number, email address and any other contact information. This is most important in the case of a missing dog and microchip information.
I agree to contact JLR immediately if I am unable to keep The Dog or any reason and will return The Dog to JLR at my expense. Additionally, in such event, I agree to keep The Dog for up to an additional (2) weeks to allow JLR ample time to find a suitable foster or alternate adopter.
I agree, acknowledge, and understand that JLR will not reimburse any veterinary expense(s) and/or deduct the cost of any veterinary or other expenses from the adoption fee unless otherwise agreed upon in advance, in writing.
I agree, acknowledge, and understand that I will not be entitled to a refund for any expenses I have incurred for adoption, transport, or care while The Dog was under my supervision and/or ownership.
I agree, acknowledge, and understand that my adoption fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
I agree, acknowledge, and understand that I am adopting The Dog "as is" at my own risk and JLR makes no guarantees about The Dog's temperament, health, mental disposition or training.
I hereby release JLR, its employees, agents, volunteers, and servants from and against any claims, actions or suits arising out of this Contract.
I certify, warrant and represent that all of the above statements contained herein are true. If it is found by JLR at any time that any of these statements are not true, I understand that I will be in material breach of this Contract and The Dog will be returned to HOTN at my expense.
