Adult Female Carolina Dog Mix - Landrum, SC

Indie is a 1.5-year-old Carolina Dog mix with the heart of a survivor and the spirit of a playful pup just waiting to shine. This beautiful girl’s story began with heartbreak — dumped by her owner on a busy road and left to fend for herself, Indie was terrified and in “lost dog mode” for over a month, too scared to trust anyone who tried to help. It took a lot of patience (and a humane trap baited with Bojangles chicken) to bring her to safety.

But since then, Indie has begun to blossom. Day by day, she’s remembering what it means to feel safe, to play, and to be loved. While she’s still a little nervous in new situations, Indie is making incredible progress already and now it doesn't take her long to settle in to new situations. She’s a friendly, sweet girl who enjoys the company of other dogs and comes alive when she’s outside — sniffing, exploring, and just enjoying the simple joys of being a dog again. Because she loves spending time outside, a fenced in yard is required for her safety. Indie loves water and chomps around a kiddie pool, entertaining herself. She has a silly personality!
