Meet Jolee! This 2-year-old, 55lb Treeing Walker Coonhound is equal parts goofy, lovable, and entertaining, with just enough hound personality to keep life interesting.
Jolee was abandoned in an outdoor kennel, and while we don't know much about her life before rescue, we're pretty sure nobody took the time to teach her the basics. She doesn't even know how to sit, which tells you a little about where she came from. But she's making up for lost time, and she's an absolute joy to have around.
Jolee has moderate energy and enjoys using her nose, as any good hound should, but she's also a certified snuggle bug. She's crate trained, house trained, and is friendly with other dogs. She's currently living with a child and doing well. There's also a cat in her foster home, and Jolee would very much like to be best friends. She play bows with the cat in an attempt to initiate a friendship, so she's certainly trying!
Like most hounds, Jolee occasionally has something to say. She may bark when she's excited or when she's being left, but we wouldn't expect a Treeing Walker Coonhound to be completely silent. She does pull on leash, but responds well to a Herm Sprenger prong collar and is still learning the ropes.
Jolee would love a home with someone familiar with hounds who appreciates their noses, their voices, their goofy personalities, and all the entertainment that comes with them. A somewhat active lifestyle with opportunities to explore, sniff, and enjoy the world would be ideal, but she'll happily balance those adventures with plenty of couch cuddles.
