Adult female boxer/american staffordshire terrier Mix - Landrum, SC

Maya is a 4-year-old, 60lb sweetheart who has come such a long way. Found as a terrified stray, Maya was so shut down that she had to be darted just to be safely caught. Never aggressive—just running in fear—she ended up at a crowded shelter where, due to her extreme fear and lack of resources, she was almost euthanized for space.

Thankfully, a foster stepped in just in time, which allowed our foster based rescue to step in and save her life. What a difference a little love makes! In just a few days, Maya began to open up. Now, she’s a happy, gentle, and affectionate girl who absolutely adores children. She's playful and social, yet calm and snuggly, with a perfect medium energy level: always up for a walk, but just as happy to lounge by your side.

Maya is currently living in a foster home with dogs of all sizes, cats, and kids. She’s crate trained, well-mannered, and truly ready to become someone’s loyal companion.
