Meet Slim – the coolest little companion you never knew you needed! This 8 year old, 31 pound Tibetan Terrier mix is calm, sweet, and just quirky enough to keep life interesting. With his scruffy coat and effortlessly cool style, Slim looks like he could’ve been in a band back in the 80s (and we mean that in the best way).

Slim is housetrained, crate trained, and does fantastic in the car. He loves going for walks. He’ll pull a bit and stop to sniff everything, but he’s manageable, especially with a harness. He’s the type of dog who seems to prefer a good sniffing stroll over running around in the backyard, so he’d be just as happy in an apartment as in a house.

When it comes to people, Slim is a fan of everyone he meets—young, old, and in between. He’s shown friendly behavior toward other dogs and was even found with a canine buddy. They were clearly happy to see each other at the shelter. While we’re still waiting on his cat test, he’s shown avoidance so far, which is promising.

Slim has a calm, independent demeanor. He’s not a Velcro dog, but he’s affectionate in his own way, happily laying beside you on the couch or relaxing at your feet. He’s especially fond of belly rubs and will roll around in his bed when he’s feeling playful. He enjoys toys for short bursts of fun and is generally happy to go along with what you ask, especially if a treat is involved. And if you’re in the kitchen? Expect Slim to suddenly be very interested in your plans.

This guy is truly a gem. “Old enough to know better” but still full of pep, Slim is exactly the kind of companion who brings comfort and personality to your home without overwhelming it. Shelter staff adored him, and it’s easy to see why. He’s endearing, easygoing, and has just the right amount of spunk. Plus, he’s working on growing back his coat after losing his luscious locks to fleas and a skin infection. Once he has his long coat back, it will only add to his charm.

If you’re looking for a low-key buddy who’s content just being near you (especially if you’re making snacks), Slim might just be your perfect match.
